United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)

Juan Orozco Arciniegas

Dear faculty advisors, sponsors, delegates, ladies, and gentlemen:
Welcome to BIMUN XVI and specially, to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime committee. It is an honor for me, Juan Andres Orozco, to be chairing such an important organ of the United Nations alongside my co-president Ana María Vasquez. The expectations we have for this new committee are elevated in consequence of the involvement of many countries in the issues that were selected to debate.
Thanks to this, we look forward to seeing you prepare with great effort for all the topics, in order to make this Model of the United Nations the best one. Remember that our main goal in the committee is to solve the problematics that make our world a place full of crimes and injustices in result of daily hidden actions by criminal organizations that not only damage the victims but also threaten the international community and all of us.
If you have any question or concerns about the committee, topics or any process of the model do not hesitate, ask us by the following mail: unodc.bimunxvi@gmail.com

Ana María Vasquez

Dear faculty advisors, sponsors, delegates, ladies, and gentlemen:
It is an honour for me to welcome you to BIMUN XVI and specially to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) where I will have the pleasure to manage in company of my colleague Juan Andres Orozco this committee. We truly expect that all the delegations that will be present in the committee will debate and provide a tactful overview of UNODC's work across the globe, orating with respect and esteem to find the best solutions and looking forward to the unknown future which is in the hands of every individual that wants to be the very best and is determined to make this journey as pleasant as possible.
This Model United Nations is the best opportunity to learn and teach that the world is for all, and only we are the owners of our dreams. We have the ability to change the way we walk together. Knowing what we have left in the past, remedying our mistakes and using our ability to speak against hate. I remind you that we are all capable of doing everything we have in mind. My dad once said to me, "If it fits in your mind, it fits in your world.” The most important thing is that we take the initiative trying to exalt ourselves. Seeking the most innocent eyes to see how wonderful is the human being.
Finally, if you have any doubts or contributions, feel free to contact us at unodc.bimunxvi@gmail.com. We will be more than delighted to answer any of your concerns.

“Action without vision is only passing time, vision without action is merely day dreaming, but vision with action can change the world” Nelson Mandela.
Ana María Vasquez.
