My name is Sofía María Martínez Daza and this year I have the pleasure of being the president of The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, UNICEF along with my partner, Camila Campo. Personally speaking, I feel more than grateful for being granted this opportunity and I am determined to work hard to fulfill all of your expectations.
This committee of the model of the United Nations is dedicated to discuss and understand the problematics that children and young adults face every single day, as well as seeking to protect human rights at all cost; however, its main purpose is to use a critical way of thinking to try and provide peaceful resolutions to the problematics that affect these children around the world, looking for a change.
As a president, me and my partner expect all of you to be prepared and have a great sense of responsibility to represent a nation and be able to bring forward solutions that contribute to make the world a better place. We will give everything in our hands to make this committee a great experience, furthermore to cooperate in your personal and academic growth that would shape you to be a great professional in the future.

It is a great honor and pleasure to preside over the UNICEF committee this year. During this Bimun XVIII we will be debating the different problems that are taking advantage of the vulnerability of children all over the word by the perspective of you delegation that we will hand to you. My fellow president Sofia Martinez and I will help you with any questions that you may have, we expect the best from each one of you, we want you to have the best disposition every day and we also want you to act responsibly and maturely. We also we want you to have a great first experience during the committee. We will also expect a fluid and earnest debate along with innovative ways to find posibles solutions that help us to become the positive future of children all over the world. Remember that children are the world’s future generation. we want to become leaders of the world. My goal on this commitment is to help create the next best delegates of the school that are capable of intellectual thinking and are open minded and are able to discuss the future of the world.
